Remember when you were a new employee? It was probably a little intimidating, slightly overwhelming and took you some time to adjust to the new environment. What if you could have transitioned into your new role with the support of a friend who knew the lay of the land? Well, that's exactly what the Buddy Program is designed to do! The HR Division is seeking ambassadors who can act as 'Buddies' and help onboard new employees. As a Buddy, you will be tasked with welcoming new employees and assisting them in adjusting to their new job environment. You'll show them what to expect, where to get the things they need, and how to succeed as a Clerk employee.
The Goal
Focus on the new employee! A Welcome Ambassador - now known as the Buddy - is a coworker, preferably an employee with years of service who is highly knowledgeable of the department and the organization as a whole, who acts as an onboarding partner to the new employee. The Buddy is paired with a new employee and is then tasked with welcoming them and helping them acclimate to their new job. Buddies help with everything from obtaining parking passes and getting keys made to advising the best places to get coffee and what to expect at various meetings.

Being a Buddy is a rewarding experience for both you and the new employee. It gives you the opportunity to meet someone new, boost your leadership skills, act as a mentor and earn some nice swag along the way!
