The Clerk's Office is continually seeking ways to encourage employee engagement and participation, whether that's by joining a workgroup, participating in a community-based volunteer opportunity or designing a compassion card, your involvement with the Office Team is valued!

Ways to Get Involved

Buddy Program

The Buddy Program is a partner program in which new hires are assigned a workplace Buddy to help the new employee get up to speed with unspoken rules, processes, and work culture, while easing the transition into their new role. The new employee will better understand workplace systems, processes, and culture, resulting in a quicker settling-in period which will ensure they are productive sooner.

The goal of the Buddy Program is to assist with socialization to help ensure that new hires feels comfortable and accepted beginning on their first day at the new job. A workplace Buddy provides an opportunity to the new employee to offer confidential feedback about how the onboarding process is going. This socialization and support will make a positive difference in early performance, social integration, and long-term retention.

Employee Workgroups

There are currently three employee-led workgroups available to participate in: the Communications & Outreach Workgroup, the Employee Development Workgroup and the Recognition and Engagement Workgroup. These workgroups are designed to engage employees, foster new skills, and spark creative drive. Participants are ambitious employees who love connecting, collaborating in a team atmosphere, and sharing ideas focused on the greater good of the organization.

The estimated time commitment is 60-90 minutes per month, but will vary. Meetings may be scheduled during lunch or work hours at any and/or all facilities; you will be able to attend via telephone or conference call as needed. Join a workgroup.

Division Open House

The Division Open House program is an internal presentation series that provides different Clerk of Court divisions the opportunity to share more about what they do in the form of a live, virtual presentation. These live presentations are usually held mid-afternoon and attendees are allowed to ask questions and provide feedback. The Division Open House program is managed by the Employee Development workgroup. If you have an idea for a presentation for your division, please contact Muhammad Azam at muhammad.azam@maricopa.gov.

Jeff Fine Awards

The Jeff "Fine" Award is an employee-to-employee recognition program designed to increase engagement. The goal is to recognize every employee for their hard work, positivity, and kindness. With the "Fine" Award, each employee will have the opportunity to receive and pass on the award to one another.

Recognize Your Teammates For:

- Random acts of kindness
- A positive customer interaction
- Creating a new work idea
- Helping on a work project
- Bringing your "A-game" to work
- Helping a co-worker
- Showing leadership
- You choose! (As long as it includes kindness and positivity!)

Spirit Days

Spirit Days are fun office days scheduled in advance that allow you to dress up or participate in a certain theme. On Spirit Days, staff are permitted to wear attire, gear or costumes that align with the chosen theme. Spirit Days are usually held monthly, depending on the season or time of the year. Past Spirit Days have included themes like, Cowboys and Cowgirls, college sports teams, and Hawaiian Day. These activities are overseen by the Employee Engagement Workgroup.
