Welcome to the home page for the Organizational Development office of the Clerk of the Superior Court for Maricopa County! Although small, the OD Team performs a vital task in the Maricopa County Judicial System: overseeing ongoing professional education for the 600+ staff members of the Clerk of the Superior Court's office.

Learn about the Committee on Judicial Education and Training (COJET) training requirements
Identify classes that would interest you and register to attend them

Seen and Heard

What is "Seen and Heard"?
Basically, in order to obtain COJET credit, your active participation is REQUIRED on all live trainings, as of April 2022. The course changes are designed to mirror a classroom environment. Just as you are graded for your participation in a school course, you will also obtain credit based on your active participation on trainings. The new policy is called 'Seen and Heard.'

What is active participation?
When the L&D team requests "active participation," it means they would like to see you engage in conversation, ask questions, raise your hand or otherwise get involved in the training discussion - just like you would in a physical classroom. This means you will need, at minimum, a camera or microphone to participate in trainings (contact your supervisor to request any needed equipment).

Why is this change happening?
The goal behind this change is to improve the learning experience for everyone. Learning happens best when everyone is engaged and participating in the discussion, together as a group! It also allows you to take a more active control of your office training progress.

What other changes are taking place?
The Learning & Development team is also changing training attendance requirements. Just like a regular in-person class, the expectation is that employees are ON TIME for the training courses. As of March 28, 2022 classes are LOCKED 5 minutes after start time. This will help minimize disruptions for the other attendees. We understand situations will arise that require changes to your ability to attend, which is one reason why L&D offers multiple opportunities to attend trainings.

Leadership Development Program

The Organizational Development (OD) Team is excited to announce that the launch of our Leadership Development Plan (LDP) has been rescheduled for early 2025. This strategic decision allows us to further enhance the program's content and ensure it aligns perfectly with our organizational goals and the evolving needs of our leaders. The LDP will offer a comprehensive framework for developing leadership competencies across all levels, incorporating learning cohorts, hands-on projects, and personalized coaching.
